In celebration of Nevada Reading Week, members of the Neon City Garrison made an appearance at Frank Kim Elementary School on March 5, 2003. They visited classrooms and read a book to the students to promote reading and literacy.

Costumes included Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, an Imperial Guard, a Jedi, and a Death Star Gunner.
